Just like last week, there isn't a whole lot to get excited about. This Friday, Bioware have announced they will be at Comic-Con in San Diego, California, which we already knew. They also announced the official start of "Game Testing" which we also already knew was happening.

I guess since it's convention season, we can't expect much out of Friday Updates. Bioware is probably obligated to keep the juicy reveals under wraps until a convention or other big event happens. At Comic-Con, the Bioware itinerary doesn't seem to include any reveals, but I'd keep an eye out just in case.

Blood of the Empire Issue 6

After a long delay, Bioware updated their site with the latest issue of Blood of the Empire.

In this issue, we watch Teneb Kel battle it out with the Emperor's apprentice. Will he complete his mission or die trying? Check out this week's issue to find out.

On a side note, the delay was rumored to be the official announcement of the start of beta testing, but at the last minute, ended up just being the comic update. You can read the offical Friday Update thread here to see what all the fuss is about. I guess we will find out next week!

Take this with a grain of salt, but the rumor around the official forums is that some invites are being sent out for a closed beta testing session happening on June 25th through June 27th.

Check out the thread in the official forum and start your engines folks... this could be real.

UPDATE: Rather than close the thread, Sean Dahlberg has posted an interesting blurb concerning the NDA:

The Game Testing Agreement that was agreed upon (when signing up for game testing) states:

PERMITTED DISCLOSURES

1. The fact that there is a Game Program.
2. The fact that you are a member of the Game Program.

Outside of that, it is a violation of the agreement to do anything more such as posting images or screen captures of anything related to Game Testing that is private and confidential and not already publicly revealed by The Old Republic team.

What makes this good news is that, rather than the usual thread-locking and added quip regarding a lack of official information regarding the beta, this thread has remained open and Sean's post almost certainly confirms the rumor.

Supposedly, there are only about 100-200 invites going out for a focused play session, so cross your fingers and start refreshing those inboxes!

ANOTHER UPDATE: There's a screenshot of a beta invite going around the internet and either this guy is good at Photoshop or it's the real deal. Rather than get in trouble over posting the actual screenshot, here's a link to the thread where it was posted:

It doesn't get anymore believable than that folks.

We have a latecomer to the E3 interview party with an interview of James Ohlen by the AngryJoeShow.

The interview weighs in at a hefty 17 minutes long, and covers general information that, once again, the Bioware team can't talk about. There were a few interesting tidbits in the video though, and Angry Joe made the interview enjoyable enough to sit through regardless.
